Evolucio is recruiting its new board! Are you interested in further building and strengthening the alumni community, organizing events, and/or representing alumni toward (future) students and the college? Then feel free to reach out to us by sending an e-mail to info@evolucio.nl!
We ask applicants to tell us briefly who they are and when they graduated, and to tell us which (volunteer) position(s) they’re interested in and why. No need for a formal letter, we just want to hear what makes you want to join us and if you have any ideas to improve Evolucio. The applications are open until Dec. 12, after which we will have a call with applicants to decide on the new board members. Feel free to contact us as well if you have any questions.
We are looking for people to help us with the following roles:
Chair:
Are you a born leader and do you like staying in touch with the college? Our chair is the face of Evolucio and the main point of contact for the college (board), alumni and fellow Evolucio board members. The chair organizes board meetings, supports other board members when needed, and is in charge of the budget. Expect about 8 to 10 hours of work a month.
Hubs:
Do you enjoy staying in touch with alumni all around the world? Our hubs coordinator helps the LUC alumni community to extend its reach beyond The Hague. The coordinator stays in touch with our hub managers, helps alumni to set up new alumni hubs, and coordinates projects and events in the hubs when possible. Expect about 4 to 6 hours of work a month.
Events:
Did you enjoy the last reunion and do you have ideas to make next year’s event even better? Do you enjoy bringing people together and are you a master in digital gatherings as well? Evolucio is looking for a new Events Manager to be in charge events we host each year. This role focuses on two big events (annual reunions and Inspire the Students) you will oversee organizing together with LUC and Fortuna. Any ideas for other smaller events (pub quizzes, workshops, lectures…)? Go for it! Expect about 4 to 6 hours of work a month, with a little more around the time of the bigger events.
Communication:
Are you interested in web development and social media and do you like storytelling? Evolucio is looking for a new Communications Manager to interview and report on alumni stories and affairs. This role focuses on (co-)writing and publishing our Alumni Spotlights, as well as keeping the website up to date, providing LUC with content for their alumni newsletter, and helping the other board members promote their news and events. Expect about 4 to 6 hours of work a month, with a little bit more around the bigger events.
Funding:
Are you a good networker and good with funds? As the alumni community is growing and funding from the college is declining, Evolucio is looking for a way to become more self-sufficient as an organization, the start of which would be to turn Evolucio into a foundation or become incorporated into Fortuna. Options to get more funding include a membership system or a fundraiser. Expect about 2 to 4 hours of work a month.
Any ideas?
The positions are described with the responsibilities and work structure as they are now, but of course, we encourage the new board to come up with their own ideas and ambitions. Do you want to help Evolucio in a different way? Don’t hesitate to reach out to us as well!
Alumni from all backgrounds and cohorts are welcome to apply and you do not need to live in The Hague or the Netherlands to become a board member. However, please note that for the Events position, it would be useful for the applicant to live near the Hague.
